Vuurwapen Blog Vendors

I thought I’d write a brief article about the “vendor list” you see on the right side of the blog.

I try to be pretty cautious when it comes to recommending a vendor, product, or service. I don’t like wasting my money because I made a purchase off bad information, and I don’t think anyone else does either. The vendors you see there are either companies I’ve dealt with personally for years, or companies that are owned/run by people I consider to be of good character. They’re listed in alphabetical order because I’m not enough of a Java Jedi to do it any differently. I’ll discuss them here in the same order.

AIM Surplus – These guys always have good deals on surplus ammo and firearms, but a lot of other things too. I picked up the alloy BHP from them, and a lot of the .308 ammo used in various videos. I’ve also bought a good bit of other stuff from them over the years. They ship quickly and are very customer-oriented, and Brian is a great guy to deal with. Be sure to look out for their coupon codes.

AZ Armament – Rich sells a lot of Magpul gear and other AR-15 parts. He offers military and LE discounts and works very hard to ensure customer satisfaction. With 1,200 Facebook likes, he must be doing something right.

Best Survival Shop – AKA Dark Mountain Research, the only gear you’ll find here is top-notch stuff that could come in very handy in the wilderness. They loaned me the Garmin tracking device and a few other items that I’m currently evaluating. Kino has a lot of experience in this area, and he won’t sell anything that doesn’t perform. He also has a popular rifle configuration named after him. That’s pretty cool.

Deliberate Dynamics – These are some very serious guys with very relevant experience. The gear they sell – and the gear they design – is well-tested and intended to perform. Some of it offers performance you won’t find anywhere else. Also, the UST is made by them and my review is how we first contacted each other, although it didn’t come directly from them. They have a cool website, too.

Elzetta – I was originally skeptical of their light mounts, but using one changed my mind completely. Their lights (one of which I have, but have still yet to review, sorry Dave) are what would pop out of a Coke machine if it had a button for “High quality flashlight, no expense spared and no detail missed.” We met up at SHOT, and they were exactly the clean-cut, honest guys they came across as in our email conversations.

Guns For Sale – These guys are very serious about this business. They’ve got a pretty wide selection of firearms and ammunition, going so far as to include some rare stuff like 9.3×62, 6.5×57 and 8×57. Oh, and they took me to Europe to take photos and video of firearms manufacturers. I’ve been trying to convince them that Tahiti has an up-and-coming firearms industry, but have so far been unsuccessful.

LEO Armory – I could talk about the other half of the company, but Meredith is far more interesting. She’s been on the cover of Dillon Precision’s Blue Press, likes guns (a lot), and can fly every plane or helicopter in the US Military inventory (as long as it has guns or bombs). Oh, and her husband flies Apaches, or something boring like that. They’re great people and sell cool stuff like ejection port covers that say “Lead Farmer” on them. Not surprisingly, they have LE/Mil discounts.

Rainier Arms – I’ve been buying AR-15 stuff from them for years, and more recently they sent me the XTC and Mega billet receiver set. They have a large inventory, LE/military discounts, fast shipping, and sporks.

The Citizen’s Armory – Run by my good friend Nick and his brother, they specialize in small parts for ARs and Glocks with cheap and fast shipping, but they sell other parts and accessories too. Nick takes great pains to get orders shipped out as quickly as possible.

Vltor Store – It’s their own fault that they’re way down here. Vltor should be no stranger to those who like quality AR parts, and if you haven’t heard, they also make the A5 stock system, which is a simply amazing piece of gear. They offer military and LE discounts. I once toured their facility, but don’t remember anything between opening a door labeled “Phased Plasma Rifle Test Room” and waking up two days later in the middle of the desert.

  1. I hadn’t checked out LEO Armory before, but I definitely will now. LE/Mil discount = fastest way to my wallet.

Not many people know that Brownells extends their LE discount to military folks as well. I buy parts and things from Brownells and MidwayUSA on a regular basis, but I’ll send my business to Brownells when I can thanks to their discounts.

  2. Looks like some solid vendors. After reading your reviews and watching your videos I know that this blog is the real deal so I respect your recommendations.

  3. I’ve had nothing but excellent experience when ordering from The Citizens Armory.

100% satisfied in doing business with him. Items were shipped quickly, even the special orders. Best of all, he doesn’t try to screw you with the shipping.

Nick, do I get that $20 now?
