My gunsmith friend and I were discussing it, and the case alone looked like an out-of-battery firing. But the projectile remained in the case, so it seems that the case started to fail, drove the bolt (and thus the case head) back slightly, and it separated – severed might be more appropriate – the case head and .169″ of the wall of the case.
As for the reason for the case failure, moisture is a possibility. The guy taking video said my hand looked wet, and I noticed on video that it was glistening a bit. Moisture inside the case could have weakened it to the point of failure.
Could you please identify the ammo in question? Vendor, nationality, production year, production plant…?
I have the same gun. And several tins of ammo. Haven’t shot either yet.
The 7.62×25 kaboom issue came up several years ago in connection with the CZ-52 pistols in this caliber being imported at the time. I believe the kaboom problem was attributed to a specific year and plant. I want to say ’58 Bulgarian, but cannot swear to it as I suffer from advanced CRS syndrome.
I have a bunch more med/aid stuff coming in next week…
Prosthetics might be useful…
OK, cause I don’t own any of these cheap commie gun. 🙂 Can somebody tell me if this weapon will every be usable again.
Should work okay.
Wow !!! Was it a weapon or ammunition failure?
