I Talked About Guns On The Radio

Thanks to my friend Kino of Dark Mountain Research, I spent some time on-air with Rusty Humphries, discussing firearms legislation. Here’s the audio if you’d like to listen to it.

  1. Excellent interview. Your responses were well, common sense for the most part. It is frustrating to hear a political leader speak in such an uneducated manner about something he obviously knows very little about.

    • Thanks Andrew. In my industry (medical device MFG in Southern CA) the majority of the workforce is liberal and very highly educated. Their technical abilities, attention to detail, and deep knowledge of very complex cutting edge technology is something that a very small percentage of the world’s workforce can accomplish, all partisan issues aside. It amazes me what happens when they start to talk about gun control. Nobody reads anything, it’s all feelings. They don’t have to read the docs or do any analysis, because they know it’s just the right thing to do. Thanks in part to some of your legwork I’ve been able to get a lot of them actually thinking. The pace of the interview was key. In this strange ‘educated’ world out here, gun owners can barely speak fast enough to engage and lack the vocabulary and syntax to merit eye contact. Consise, well researched, to the point responses “delivered on demand” is the only way to crack the armor. Sadly, it’s all on us out here to prove our case, just like if the cops take my AR-15 because they think it might be illegal. Your blog helps man. Keep on keepin on. Alex

        • It would be really awesome if you made Chris Costa cry; then bottled his tears and sold them to Haley claiming they’re new tactical eye drops (make sure the bottle is CNC machined 7075 T6 from billet and cerakoted multicam or he’ll know something’s up). Not quite a topic though sorry – ahem –

          1. Medical equipment for a survival pack. What’s important and why? Demo some basics if possible (How to admin an IV, how to move an injured person and gauge if that’s a good idea etc)
          2. Skydiving. Do a HALO jump and tell us about the fun facts and procedures.
          3. The finer points of Rick Taylor shooting at things from a helicopter.
          4. Get a tour of a C-130 gunship, take pics and be yourself.

          Side show:
Why no mention of LMT stuff? Do you have any positive or negative experience with LMT products? Do you like/dislike the way they do business?

Not really being serious, but kind of am – You should team up with John at 8541 Tactical and rule the internet. If you guys did joint product reviews, or hosted a show together slaying the firearm misinformation dragons, it would be the defacto standard. One of you would have to be the Dark Knight though 😉

          Thanks, Alex

          • Sorry Andrew, I assumed you were asking for topics other than gun.

Can you cover the mathematical probability of any particular state gun control legislation passing? Say in CA or New Jersey?

What do you think about the NRA’s shield program for schools?
