Coming Out of the Closet – So To Speak

I now work full-time for LuckyGunner. If you like what I do here, you’ll like what will soon be coming from them (perhaps I should say “us”).

Regular blog readers and YouTube channel viewers might be interested to know how this will affect the blog. I don’t foresee any changes in format, quality, or objectivity. Although the blog is what first put me on their radar, it isn’t part of the deal, and it remains for me to use as I see fit.

I first met with some LuckyGunner folks at SHOT 2011. They impressed with me with their drive. Recently, I met with more LG employees, and they were all impressive (well, except for that Angela person) as well. I’ve always enjoyed working with capable people, and that’s a good way to describe everyone who works at LuckyGunner.

This job combines two of my passions (firearms and photography), capitalizes on the skill set I have been unintentionally building my whole life, and allows me to continue to enjoy the rest of my life. Given the current state of the economy, I’m ecstatic about it.

At the risk of sounding like someone giving an acceptance speech at the Academy Awards, this job would never have happened without the people who read my blog and share the posts and videos I’ve made with their friends. I really mean this – thanks.

  1. Congrats. I hope you continue to use Vuurwapen blog and have objective articles here.

I’ve been a regular reader of The Firearm Blog and have been very disappointed at its changes since its acquisition (?) by Lucky Gunner. The original author still seems to write fairly good articles, but the other authors seem to be writing entirely promotional, Gunblast-style puff pieces just to sell more stuff. I basically skip over all the supposedly detailed handgun reviews they have posted lately.
