Although this is a problem I haven't experienced, some other folks apparently have - case head separations with surplus Tokarev ammo in the J&G 1911 conversion barrels. J&G is handling the issue with replacement barrels for those who want them. Information here.

Return of the Zombie Camera
Reports of its death having been exaggerated, the Casio was back in action today... Alloy BHP review to be posted in a few hours. Here's something for the meantime. 9mm Winchester Ranger T 147gr vs. a water jug, at 1000fps. Not very technical, but fun to watch.
The Last Video of the Casio High Speed
It wasn't even a good video for the camera to die for... 12 gauge birdshot vs. a gallon jug of water...

The editor of The Firearm Blog has graciously allowed me to make a guest post on his blog - it can be found here.
There’s Nothing Special About a Gun Show
The title of this article has several meanings. The most obvious to people who regularly go to gun shows is that they're generally a waste of time, with jerky vendors, jewelry sales booths, and that annoying guy who arcs his stun guns into the air every 15 seconds crowding out the people actually selling guns - many of whom have had the same overpriced stuff on their tables for the last 5 years. People who've never been to a gun show should take the title literally - there is really… Read More
Best of Luck…
Steve at TheFirearmBlog has driven a significant amount of traffic to my blog, for which I am very thankful. I had the chance to thank him in person at SHOT, where we had dinner and an informal meet and greet, along with other gun bloggers, thanks to an industry sponsor. He's a really nice guy - and pretty interesting to talk to as well. He's sold ownership of his blog, but will remain in charge as editor-in-chief. I wish him the best of luck with this pretty exciting endeavour.
SHOT 2011: Multitasker Ultralight (Gen 2)
Not sure what to call it - Gen 2, Version 2, Series 2, Pro...Anyway, this is the prototype for the second Ultralight. After using the Ultralight for a little while, I commented to Shane at Multitasker that the Ultralight could really benefit from a knife blade, and he said, "Way ahead of you." My upcoming review will be of the original Ultralight, but with consideration given to the changes in the new version.
Hughes Amendment Vote Video
Charlie Rangel apparently thinks it's a Home Depot commercial...stop hammering, Charlie!
Voter Intimidation – It’s Bush’s Fault
I rarely stray from the subject of firearms on this blog. Today will be "one of those days". If you've had Fox News on in the past few days, or cruised right- or left-leaning blogs or websites in the same timeframe, you've probably come across reports that the Department of Justice has dropped portions of a voter intimidation case. Nightstick-wielding New Black Panther Party members stood 5 feet away from a Philadelphia polling place during the November 2008 election, verbally threatening voters and calling a black Republican poll watcher a… Read More
AR-15 Balance Calculator
Hot on the heels of my weight calculator comes a balance calculator, which will tell you where the center of gravity of your AR is. Right now it doesn't have nearly as many components as the weight calculator, but I'm continuously adding more. It's meant to give you an approximation of CG, because to be exact would require knowing the CG and exact location of every component on the rifle, but it has proven to be quite accurate, within .15" in almost every case, and within .05" in a large… Read More
