As you can probably see, I’ve changed the configuration of the blog. If anyone has issues, especially configuration issues, please let me know. Oh, and if you hate the new look, feel free to let me know that as well.
I would especially like input from mobile users.
I miss the pictures at the header. other than that, I dig it. 🙂
I’m not sure what I’ll do there, might add something, might not…Thanks.
I think I liked the old blog better. The pictures at the top were awesome. Haven’t looked at it on my mobile yet however.
It looks good… the only thing I would change would be to add a header picture.
Header photo added. Congrats on the trophy win, by the way.
Thanks. Thats very nice of you to say…. and I appreciate you taking a dive so that I could walk away with a victory. 🙂
I read this blog on a mobile phone exclusively and preferred the old style. Mainly because it was more visually appealing and if im not mistaken it gave you a little of post’s text on the front page. I will admit that I have a pretty fancy phone and this new layout may be way easier for smaller screens and slower processors to handle…
i would have to say that i prefer the old layout. it was more concise, this one is more cluttered. maybe it will grow on me though 🙂
My browser won’t let me see the images. Is the problem on your end or a DoD firewall?
Should be fixed now.
I really prefer the old, simple look.
Well, it’s OK, but the pictures don’t load on my desktop. Don’t know about mobile.
I actually kind of like it.
Looks clean.
i have been reading your site for a while, i like everything about the old layout/style better. even if the new layout is for keeps, (i can live with it, i just prefer the old style) the old style header/images/logo were absolutely killer and should not be abandoned. The images were all detailed and compelling to look at, but not gaudy. the logo was simple, sharp and memorable. i know the tickle of change, but dont mess with a good thing.
Thanks…but I’m a little confused. To me, the new look is very close to the old one; the banner is a different image, but I was rotating those out every few months anyway. The text is the same, it’s just part of the banner now. Unless you mean the images that were on the image page? Also, other than the Facebook logo, I didn’t really have one at the top of the page.
Not trying to be negative, just not picking up what you’re putting down.
I have a Droid Incredible, with mobile theme on or off, I do not see the banner. It is only when I move to “view full site” that I see the banner photo. I like the banner photos, the rest of the layout, I can work with it almost no matter how it’s set up. I’m used to people changing or canceling software I like at work.
Your opinion doesn’t count Mike.
Touche
I think it would be funny if the guy in the “Enjoy this article?” box were sitting on a toilet. Other than that, it looks fine.
I had to look twice, I thought he was on the toilet
Header= win. I think the whole package looks slick now.
Looks Great. I am hoping you step up the content output. I always really enjoy reading your posts.
I like the new look. Looks very simple on my (andriod 2.2) phone, but in a good way.
Works very well from the DroidX.
Liking the new look.
On Iphone4 with Mobile Theme on, replies to comments are not indented so its hard to tell the thread of replies. Not sure if this can be fixed. Replies become indented with Mobile Theme off, though.
I would go back to the old, larger font. It’s a bit easier to read and seems to flow more easily…
Looks good to me, easy to read and navigate.
What happened to the blog post titles?
Most of the time I visit this blog with my iphone and what bothers me about the new look is that the date is too prominent. I don’t think the date something was posted is so important it has to be the eye catcher, I’d prefer small note under the title of a blog entry. When figuring out whether something new was posted I look at the latest title and figure out if I already know that entry, I don’t pay attention to the date. Maybe other people’s brains order things by dates, but they are secondary to mine.
