To celebrate a full year of taking high speed video, here's a montage of some of my favorite 1000fps high speed video clips.

The Marlin Papoose is a fun to shoot and quite accurate takedown .22. It's easy to have with you almost anywhere you can carry a backpack. Cost is approximately $250 and it weighs 3.25lbs. What's not to like?

Here's the 3 month update on the Glock beavertail. The original video can be found here. I plan on making another video in approximately 3-4 months, as I get more time with the weapon. I'd like to thank GunsForSale for providing the 9mm and .40 S&W ammo used for this video, and Glock for the beavertail backstrap.

I thought I'd write a brief article about the "vendor list" you see on the right side of the blog. I try to be pretty cautious when it comes to recommending a vendor, product, or service. After putting quite a bit of 5.45 and 5.56 through the Rainier XTC over the last 9 months, I feel pretty confident in saying that it's the best muzzle compensator value on the market.

In the past, I have used high speed video to analyze various aspects of AR-15 operation. Today, I did some testing at the range with several action springs. This is intended to be an ongoing test, so all three action springs were brand new. Rob_S, creator of the oft-discussed spreadsheet comparing M4 rifles from various manufacturers known simply - and ominously - as "The Chart," has released a long-awaited new version which includes more testing, features, and is based on a survey of manufacturers. This "new chart" includes Accurate Armory, Bravo Company, CMMG, Colt, Daniel Defense, LMT, Noveske, SIONICS, Spike's Tactical, and Stag. Olympic is also listed, but apparently didn't provide any information other than their telephone number.
