7.62×25

I don’t even have time to take a halfway decent picture…I’m off to the range! Some of my friend Kristofer Gulbrandsen’s hard work has finally paid off.

Edit – back from the range – it works! More video to come.

  1. You’ll have to contact J&G Sales about that. I don’t recall the exact price off the top of my head, but it seemed very reasonable, considering that a barrel with link and pin, bushing, recoil spring, and mainspring are included.

        • Have you had any problems with hard primers? What ammo are you running? What power mainspring?

I’ve found with the surplus ammo, that the older stuff is actually better (in terms of primer softness) than the newer stuff. I shot some really new looking (80’s vintage) stuff but it seemed like every 5th round was a misfire.

Meanwhile, the 50’s vintage stuff fired almost every time…

          • The barrel kit includes a heaver mainspring – I believe that it is 26#…

No problems with hard primers so far, but I only have about 50 rounds through it. I was shooting surplus as well as new production S&B.

  2. Good for J&G, lots of cheap practice. I noticed they have 2160 rounds of Polish 7.62×25 for $180. Even if the conversion cost $200 it would pay for itself quickly.

  3. Have you ever chrono’ed these loads? Have you ever suppressed this load? I am interested in doing this but always trying to maximize my gear to fit my multiple facets of shooting. Id love to be able to shoot this through one of my cans. I guess a threaded conversion barrel might be too much to ask for at this point though?

    Thanks,
    Jeremy
