Here is a video comparison of the characteristics and performance of the PWS FSC30 and BCE BABC.
For informational purposes as to what went in to this video:
– 4.6GB of raw video, photo, and audio data
– 75 separate audio/narration takes/tracks
– 10 hours of video production time
– 3 computer programs
– 30 minutes of studio photography
– 4 cameras
– 2 microphones
– 860 rounds of 7.62×51
– 18 hours at the range over 4 months time (that is, time spent specifically on evaluating the performance of these devices, not total time spent at the range with the weapon).
Andrew,
In terms of layout, production value, information presented, and overall flow, this is your best video to date. Keep up the good work.

Thank you!
As usual, great video, I like the semi-transparent overlays of you shooting the two different guns.
Are those tactical sandals? 🙂
The overlay is a really excellent way to compare these two devices.
Your videos are always to the point and full of useful information–thanks for being one of the more efficient reviewers out there.
Andrew
Good review. I find the same characteristics on the 5.56 comps also. Great for range commandos until you start pulling the trigger and then watch out! Shooting through a barrel on a stage, I got a face full of my own muzzle blast. Made me evaluate my requirements and look at what was out there.
I think the longer barrel is obviously gonna keep the blast away from you and I use the gas-buster charging handles now also.
Quite a thorough and just comparison !
You had me at “Here is a video…”. 😛
I also like the ghosted overlays of shooting each compensator. Great Vid!
Excellent work Andrew.
I keep wondering how these devices would be when mounted to an HK G3 (what HM the King has currently blessed me with). From what I understand the delayed-roller system is much more succeptable to muzzle-clib than DI, would these things (or even an A2-style flash supressor) mitigate my problems (that of course are due to me not eating my oatmeal, not going to the gym la-di-da).
The recoil impulse of the G3 is definitely different. It can be managed quite well, but I think that technique is more important than strength when it comes to the G3 platform.
Excellent work man! Fantastic production.
I have my Arsenal AK in Vegas right now being worked over by the rifle dynamics guys. I have gone back and forth between the PWS FSC47 and the AKBC. I feel like my AK being a .30 caliber weapon that your video info should be transferrable. It is a semi-auto weapon obviously. None of my cohorts in this area have either one of those brakes. If you had to pick one which would it be? Since I’m not firing full auto I’m leery of the BC “pushing down” as you described.
Joel – When I ordered an Arsenal / AKM-47 Saiga SGL-21/94 from RD last August (semi-auto), Jim Fuller said that the FSC 47 was good, so I got that on my order. As of today, 8/1/12, I’m still waiting – I called back this week with your very same dilemma and spoke with one of his shop guys and he said that the FSC 47 is good, but it looks like it shoots out sparks and that I should get only a brake and not a brake/flash hider (FYI – I heard that Vortex was the best hider). He recommended a brake made by PRI. I called PRI and they don’t make them for an AK, so I called RD back and spoke to the same shop worker and he said the next best brake is the Battle Comp, so I changed my order from the FSC 47 to the Battle Comp – a lot more money, but since I’m getting the Premium Upgrade, I might as well go all the way – it’s only my bonus for a couple of years. Late for Feb, but hope this was helpful – let me know. John
